Rendezvous

Having experienced Urban AC airplay on several cuts from their previous “Charmed and Dangerous” CD album, and a Top 30 national dance hit (with their remake of the club and radio hit song “Swearin’ To God”), Soul Tempo is now readying their new live show to coincide with the upcoming release of their brand new “RENDEZVOUS” album.

The four members of SOUL TEMPO, Jerry Brunson, Tony Burnett, and brothers Kevin and Phillip Mitchell, grew up together and the strong chemistry between them is reflected in their great vocal sound and on-stage charisma.

Things first started to coalesce for the foursome when they got the chance to audition for film producer/director Penny Marshall for her movie then in production. Ms. Marshall became an instant fan, as she remains to this day, and SOUL TEMPO was given an on-camera singing part in “The Preacher’s Wife”, with Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington.

But the Group wanted more. They were determined to get their shot on the record scene and in 2000 released their own CD album. But while the four were in key as a vocal group, they were not experienced at being record company execs and pondered their next move.

Then Soul Tempo was introduced to veteran songwriter/producer and A&R man Denny Randell who signed the group to DRC Entertainment and immediately began planning their new sessions for release on his and partner/collaborator Biddy Schippers’ Music Avenue Records.

And now with Soul Tempo’s “Rendezvous” album about to be released and the foursome’s schedule of appearances coming together for the rest of 2005, the group is looking forward to their careers moving into yet higher gear. And for big success by this intense, Smooth-harmony vocal group, the timing appears to be just right.
